Sunrise

Suzanne V. Pabst, 2-26-06

Sometimes in the morning as the sun rises, the low-lying blue clouds look like another distant ridge. In a matter of minutes, the day’s sun will rise above the image and spoil the moment bringing forth another day with a good start. A cardinal from my vantage, sets the mood with his song. We share another wonder.

Old Spring Farm Bed & Breakfast, Ltd.

Circa 1883 Virginia farmstead. An “authentic French Country farm-stay” makes OLD SPRING FARM distinct from other area accommodations (Washington Post).

Located in Blue Ridge Wine Country, where traditions linger, fifty miles south of Roanoke, VA.

Expect wholesome food, artfully prepared, with a gourmet touch. With emphasis on fresh and in-season, savor a hearty breakfast for the gourmand served on Apple-patterned Franciscan earthenware accompanied by vintage family silverware.

Homemade morning breads, jams and delectable specialties utilize local or farm-raised eggs, meat, fruit and vegetables. (Gourmet Magazine)

Uncle Amos’ Buttermilk or Buckwheat Waffles are a signature “must”.

A guided walking tour of the farm after a “full-tummy, nice breakfast”, affords exercise and the opportunity to cuddle Bengal-Manx kittens (BANX), and view the newest foal frolicking, lambs leaping and llamas “humming”.

COME TO THE MOUNTAINS! Enjoy the following tour of the farm.
